Settled on the banks of the Meduxnekeag and St. John Rivers at the intersection of the Trans Canada highway and I-95, Woodstock, New Brunswick’s First Town, is rich in heritage and tradition. Woodstock is a vibrant, prosperous community-the service centre of the Upper St. John River Valley. It is the retail and commercial hub of the agricultural, forestry, and transportation sectors in the regional economy.
When you are here, visit our shops, boutiques and dine at one of the many restaurants. Stroll the greenway, visit the Woodstock Farm & Craft Market, picnic on the greenway, or launch your own boat from the public docks right in the heart of downtown.

The Connell House during the Victorian Christmas Celebrations

Hon. Charles Connell House was built in 1840. Designated historic site by Parks Canada and home of Carleton County Historical Society. Archives, gift shop, and exhibits open for display.
L.P. Fisher Public Library was constructed in 1914. Research the collections of local books, manuscripts and genealogical information in the Raymond Room. The library also houses the Dalton Camp Canadiana Centre.
Old Carleton County Courthouse built in 1833 in Upper Woodstock. Site of the first County Council in New Brunswick in 1853, a historic stagecoach stop and county seat of justice. Restored building, designated a provincial heritage site, houses historical displays. 


Woodstock Historical Walking Tour is a self-guided heritage walking tour showcasing Woodstock’s Victorian and historic architecture. Walking tour maps are available at locations throughout the town.
Meduxnekeag Valley Nature Preserve 10 km from Woodstock has walking trails through a unique form of Appalachian Hardwood Forest containing many trees, flowering plants, and ferns which are uncommon in New Brunswick. Offers many scenic lookouts and tranquil forest walks under mature trees.
Connell Park is in the heart of the town with playground, picnic shelters, splash pad, home to Carleton Civic Centre, and grand stands.
